I have been in Real Estate for 25 years. Just kidding (sort of). I actually grew up in a Real Estate family and watched my Dad acquire 160 properties in a syndication by the time I was 10.
When I was 19, I bought my first investment property and when I turned 21, I got my Real Estate license. I joined my Dad’s firm selling apartment buildings and in my first few years I sold over $20,000,000 in investment property.
In 2008, I received my CCIM designation, just in time for the market to collapse. My brokerage business failed and I wasn’t able to maintain expenses of vacant units. I lost all of my properties to foreclosure and got out of the business and got a “Real” job. With a couple years away from the business, I have had lots of time to think about the gifts I have received from God. Knowing what I know now, I would have done things a lot differently. My mission is to help others avoid the disastrous mistakes I made and to learn the right ways to invest.
I built this site as a blog so that I could update you on the trends in the industry so that you can get off to the right start. I do not charge for any of the information I provide on this website. I make money by consulting with apartment building owners and prospective investors. I also get paid a commission from some of the websites that I refer you to.
I believe in apartments because of historical proof, we will always need a roof over our head, apartments are cheaper per foot than houses to rent, economies of scale, anyone with capital can do it, it doesn’t take much more knowledge to be good at it if you own a house, leasing is less complicated, full scalability, emerging markets.
